Good News Church Family & Friends,
We hope you’re having a wonderful and restful Thanksgiving weekend! For all who would desire and feel led to participate with our church's leadership team, we have designated this Saturday, Nov. 29 as a Good News Church Day of Prayer & Fasting. This is a way of giving everything to God in preparation for the Gwinnett County Planning Commission meeting this upcoming Tuesday, December 2, at which time they will consider our application for rezoning and use of the Hillside property.
We desperately want to walk God’s path and direction for our church, whether that be on the Hillside property or not. We believe that He is leading us to Hillside, but we only want to be where He wants us. Therefore, a day of prayer and fasting certainly seems appropriate.
Pray Together THIS Saturday, Nov. 29 (8am - 9am) at Hillside
All are invited to join us at Hillside for a time of prayer for our church THIS Saturday (8am - 9am). Address: 5879 Hillside Farm Rd., Sugar Hill, GA 30518
and/or
Pray Wherever You Are
If you’re not able to join us, we invite you to pray wherever you are for: 1) wisdom to follow God’s path 2) approval by Gwinnett County 3) provision of $3.8 million project finances. To access all the Hillside proposal details and photos of the property, click here.
You can pray this verse that has been guiding us in this process, "Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun” (Psalm 37:3-6).
About Fasting
The purpose of fasting is to focus our hearts more deeply on God and to remind us of our total dependence on Him. Fasting is not a way to persuade God to act on our behalf because we’ve done something for Him. Instead, it is an intentional practice that draws us into closer communion with Him. By setting aside something essential—such as food—we become quickly aware of our reliance on God. And by replacing a meal with prayer and Scripture reading, we create space to seek Him more purposefully. Your fast may be one meal, several meals, or multiple days. For now, we’re inviting you to participate in a one-day fast, choosing however many meals you feel led to set aside.
If you can join us, great! If not, no worries. :)
We love you and we’re grateful for you! Blessings,
Drue & Laura
