Friends and Family,

I just received this latest update from Chad Garrett. See below. Also... Sean Conroy is assisting with transporting donated supplies up as they come in. Swannanoa Church said that they are good on supplies, so we have put a freeze on collections. Swannanoa is now in the process of transitioning towards building 10' x 10' temporary housing camps while also rebuilding existing homes. Suppplies and volunteers will definitely be needed for that project. We'll keep you posted.

I spoke with Ben Adkins at Swannanoa Christian Church, who shared that they are well-supplied and are now transitioning from receiving supplies to focusing on cleaning up and rebuilding homes. They are incredibly grateful for the support received—over $1.5 million in supplies has come through Swannanoa Christian Church, which has just 150-200 members. Any surplus supplies have been given to other churches in need.

I have temporarily suspended the Amazon list, but any donated supplies will still be transported to Swannanoa and distributed within the community. Below are some volunteer opportunities. The situation is very fluid and can change from day to day.

DAY TRIP OR MULTI-DAY SERVING

We will most definitely be planning more clean up trips and will let you know with plenty of time in advance. Swannanoa Church has a full house that can house up to 10 volunteers at a time. We also have friends, in nearby Hendersonville, where people can stay. And if you like camping, you can bring your tent and camping gear and go “camping with a purpose.” With school break coming up next weekend, families are welcome anytime to go up for the day (3 hour drive) to help with cleanup. Swannanoa Church said that we can just show up, and they’ll put us to work. For Swannanoa Church’s info and address, click here.
