As a way to encourage and "spur one another on" in prioritizing Bible reading and spending time with God, we're inviting YOU to join our 2025 Bible Reading Club. If you're able to cross the finish line by February 1, 2026, you'll receive a valuable reward TBD. :)
INSTRUCTIONS
- Choose a Bible reading plan (see our Good News Church recommended plans below).
- Decide if you're going to try to read "every word" of the Bible or "selected readings" from Genesis to Revelation. Both are fine.
- Click this link (or the RED LINK above) to let us know that you want to join the club.
As you read, allow yourself plenty of grace! Most likely, there will be times that you miss multiple days at a time. No problem! Just pick up where you left off and keep going. Our finish line is February 1, 2026, to allow space for the days and times that we get off track. :)
MOST RECOMMENDED BIBLE READING PLANS:
- Bible in One Year - Offers a daily "every word" or "selected readings" Bible reading plan with a fantastic devotional commentary that does an excellent job explaining everything that you’re reading. Available to read and/or listen to via audio.
- Bible Project - The Bible Project is an amazing resource that will assist you in reading through the Bible, and includes books of the Bible video overviews, topical overviews, articles, podcasts, and classes.
- The Bible Recap - The Bible Recap (TBR) follows a chronological Bible reading plan and is a short daily recap by creator and host, Tara-Leigh Cobble. She’ll highlight and summarize that day’s Bible reading in a casual, easy to understand way.
- YouVersion Bible App - This App / website is a great resource as on online Bible and also has a variety of Bible reading plans available.
- God's Great Story - A daily Bible reading devotional for Teens (and adults). Highly recommended. We did that is a church in 2024.
- The Jesus Storybook Bible - Honestly, this book may be the best of the bunch! This is primarily for children, but I also think it's mandatory reading for adults. If you don't know much about the Bible, start here!

GOLD FROM GOD
Whatever you decide to do for Bible reading, I'd highly recommend making it a goal to try to identify each day some "Gold from God," a primary nugget take away from your reading. The nugget can be a verse, a quote, a summarizing thought, etc. Write down your nugget in your journal or keep track of them in a Notes page on your phone. Make it easily accessible so you can see how God has been speaking to and encouraging you throughout the year.
